Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh is a leading university with students coming from all parts of the world with greater envision. SUST was established in 1986. It was the only university of its kind at that point of time. The journey full and final started on 13th of February 1991. The university is known for having three specific departments of Physics, Chemistry and Economics. The university holds 13 teachers and 205 students. The entire school is divided into 7 schools and 27 departments. There are two institutes and rest of the centers.

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh now stands with 566 teachers and the total number of students now stands at 8596. On the other side the institution has 12 affiliated colleges and there are more than 4000 students in the department of Medical Sciences. This is the university where the integrated honors course was introduced for the first time in Bangladesh. The university was known for introducing the semester system for the session of 1996 to 1997. During the time there was a remarkable improvement in the standard of education.

The students at SUST had to take two language courses: English and Bangla. The students were also made to take two computer courses of computer literacy and learning of computer language. Admission Essentials

The deadline to submit an application is December 3, 2025; the entrance test is December 6, 2025; and the results are released on December 8, 2025. These are the details for Admission Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) for the January–June 2025 semester. On October 22, 2025, the new student admissions process will begin.

The age of the applicant should be 17 years on or before 31st December 2025. For the purpose of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Admission candidates from the general category must receive at least 50% on their HSC exam, while those from the SC, ST, and OBC categories must receive at least 45%. Based on the details of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Admission Circular the student should carry four recent colored photos, the SUST payslip, the original marksheets and the certificates of the S.S.C or equivalent exams or H.S.C or equivalent examination.
